About Me.

Music, to me, is more than just a composition of sound.

It's a moment in time, an experience, a lifestyle, something of a possessive monster than represents every embodiment of your being. A fire of passion lit inside you where each flame that burns is unique yet crucial to your DNA.

Growing up in the heart of South Africa, music was no stranger to our household. There was always some form of music playing in the background of everyday life. This is where my interest in music began in the broadcasting industry.

I took an interest in radio during my high school days, the very idea of a platform so mighty to promote the up & coming local artists and bands really intrigued me. A pilot dream that opened its arms and welcomed me with both arms. I happened to cross paths with the right people because within a year I had visited 2 of the biggest stations in Joburg and thanks to a mentor I hold dear to my heart [Shane Ngwenya] managed to get work at a local Christian community station in my area, [Rainbow FM] where I went on to produce and host my own show once a week and occasionally produce shows for other DJ's / Pastors who needed assistance. I loved every minute of it, but as I had begun studying at the [Academy of Sound Engineering], I needed the time to focus on my projects and tests and therefore had to leave.

During this period, I used my time at ASE to book as much studio time possible. Record and mix as much as I could, working with some incredible local talent. Bands like Cooler box, Lawless Gentlemen, The Amblers, Held On Till May as well Themba.

As my 3rd year approached, I decided to take everything I had learned thus far into the Music Production elective. I had the privilege to pull off one of the most significant recording projects done in ASE by a student to date. After months of preparation, I was given the clear by both the ASE HOD's and the SABC to use the infamous M2 studio to record Held on Till May as my 3rd-year band recording project. A full 3 day set up where my self and the help of various lecturers as well as my team [Joshua Cannings & Kabelo Mohapi] was able to pull off a full live band set up. Definitely one of the highlights in my career.

I then went on to graduate from ASE with a Diploma in Audio Technology [Specialising in Music Production]. This also came with a qualification from Avid as "An Avid certified Pro Tools Operator" [210M].

I have since worked on multiple projects ranging from hip-hop to pop related genres with independent artists such as Luna Vexa, Stanley Kaye, Alvyn Tona, Rob Crawford, Storm Dee Parker, KB, Ason, Master A Flat, Luke Knox, Dumisa Rankin, etc.

Check out my projects page as well as my various social media accounts for more information.

Music is the world that revolves around me. I'm here to help to make the same impact in this industry.
